The Runs experience, Part-1
Aristotle said, “Man, by nature, is a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is beneath our notice. Society is something that precedes the individual”.
Runs.com is a novel concept of building a community of like-minded individuals with the aim of making their dreams realized collectively. The community is built on the holy trinity of cricket, coffee, and cinema. I was fortunate to witness all the three aspects in a week.
Runs.com launched its first office in India at Bangalore on the 29th of April 2018. They kicked-off their initiative with a spectacular opening ceremony in which they hosted a live screening of an IPL match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders at Café Coffee Day Global Village.
The show started with the MC breaking the shackles and uniting the audience with some activities. This was followed by a nail-biting Crypto Cricket Cup which literally went down to the wire. The winners were awarded medals and a trophy. The MC kept the audience on their toes with some innovative games and contests. The crowd enjoyed RCB’S batting and were treated to some mouth-watering Virat Kohli drives and food. They parallelly participated in a contest in which a person who tweets the most or predicts the correct scores won exciting prizes.
However, the match was delayed due to rain, this did not deter people from having fun. People enjoyed a top-class experience hosted by Runs.com and most stayed until the end.
The CEO of Runs.com, Giri Devanur, flew from the US just to participate in the event. CDO Sandesh B.N. was there till the end, cheering the audience and making sure that the event was a memorable one.
